The Akinolas

Pastor Oluleke Akinola and Pastor Boade Akinola are a dynamic Christian couple with over 39 years of marital experience. Their shared passion for seeing marriages succeed has led them to dedicate their lives to empowering couples and young people.

Oluleke Akinola and Boade Akinola’s love story began amidst the bustling campus of the University of Lagos. Classmates and teammates, their bond blossomed amidst the academic rigours and vibrant university life.

Boade’s reputation as a talented basketball captain and her warm, inviting personality quickly captivated Leke. He was drawn not only to her beauty but also to her intelligence, kindness, and generosity. Their friendship deepened over time, with Boade seeking Leke’s counsel and companionship.

In their third year, Leke took a bold step, proposing to Boade without the traditional dating phase. Their connection was so profound that words were unnecessary. Their friendship had evolved into a love that transcended the ordinary, a love built on trust, respect, and shared experiences.

From their university days to their 39 years of marriage, Leke and Boade’s love story continues to inspire. Their journey is a testament to the power of friendship, the beauty of true love, and the enduring strength of a partnership forged in the crucible of academia.

Through the Leave2cleave Youtube series, The Akinolas offer biblical counselling and guidance to couples navigating various marital challenges. As certified marriage coaches, they have helped hundreds of people strengthen their bonds and build lasting marriages. Additionally, they mentor and inspire young people to reach their full potential. Their commitment to empowering the next generation is evident in their various programs and initiatives aimed at empowering youth and women.

MEET

Pastor Oluleke Jacob Akinola

Pastor Oluleke Akinola is a respected spiritual leader and community advocate with a proven track record in ministry and education. He serves as the General Overseer of Upper Room Baptist Church and has been actively involved in the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN). With a Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences and a Post Graduate Diploma in Theology, Pastor Akinola has a strong educational foundation. He has also received advanced training at the Haggai Institute and the Christian Community Development Association. Renowned for his passion for sports and community engagement, Pastor Akinola served as the football captain of the University of Lagos and Sports Secretary of Henry Carr Hall. His contributions to the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) have been widely recognised, culminating in his appointment as the Financial Secretary of the Lagos State Chapter. Pastor Akinola is the author of the best-selling book "When Delay Is Divine" and is happily married to Boade Akinola. Together, they host the YouTube series "Leave2Cleave," providing guidance and support to couples navigating their relationships. Together, they are blessed with three biological and many spiritual children.

Pastor Boade Akinola

Boade Akinola is a seasoned Strategic Communications Manager with a proven track record in public sector information management. She has worked in various Nigerian ministries, gaining expertise in media and policy. Akinola has successfully implemented Behavioral Change Communications campaigns using mass media and has collaborated with public, private, non-governmental organizations, and international aid agencies to achieve impactful results. A lifelong learner, Akinola has embraced new technologies and digital media to enhance her engagement and advocacy efforts. She holds a BSc in Mass Communication from the University of Lagos and a Masters in International Law and Diplomacy. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Akinola is a certified marriage coach and a coach trainer with The Institute for Marriage and Family Affairs, USA. She is also the co-founder of Leave2Cleave, a YouTube platform dedicated to providing marriage counseling and support. Within her community, Akinola leads the women's ministry at The Upper Room Baptist Church and annually convenes a retreat for women.
